This is a creamy and slightly spicy diabetic recipe that will please everyone. The most popular hamburgers you will find are the ones that are stuffed.  This one is like eating a jalapeno popper.  This is great on a bun, but for this diabetic beef recipe; it is best served in a Lettuce Wrap.

Ingredients

1 lb. ground sirloin

1 egg, lightly beaten

½ t. Kosher salt

¼ t. freshly ground black pepper

6 oz. whipped cream cheese

4 jalapeno peppers, seeded and chopped

Lettuce, for wrapping

Any condiments you may want

Directions

  1. Heat your grill over medium heat.  While the grill is heating, combine the cream cheese and the chopped jalapenos in a bowl and stir to combine.  Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground sirloin, the egg, Kosher salt and black pepper.  Form eight 1/4″ thick patties.  Spoon the cream cheese and jalapeno mixture onto half of the patties.  Place the other patties on top of the cream cheese and press to seal them shut.
  3. Grill the burgers over medium heat, for about 6-10 minutes per side, or until cooked to desired temperature.  When the burgers are done, remove from the grill and wrap in the lettuce leaves.
